As per the Veterinary Surgeons Act (1966), all animals receiving Veterinary Physiotherapy must be pre-registered with a Veterinary Practice.  Consent is typically gained from your Vet prior to physiotherapy assessment and treatment.  However, if your animal is healthy, with no underlying disease or pathology, they are able to have a 'maintenance' appointment where Vet consent is not required (in accordance with the Royal Veterinary College, 2020).
